After three dozen years, many of us still have memories of what happened to us at that 12 level Montauk project facility. Some of you have even requested my help time traveling backwards. NYC's future laws make time traveling forward impossible, and who would want to go to nowhere anyway? We are all living more intensely after seeing the future awaiting our kids kids. Knowing NYC's future makes traveling back through its past more momentous. This game protects the identities of the escaped kidnapped ones, no one will know which players really have time traveling powers.
Mary's not mysteriously hiding in time, I'm sure she went back to Norumbega. Where else would any of us kidnapped ones go, really? We all wish to take people we love back to that utopian garden paradise. Everyday a buffet of wild berries, fresh fish, mussels and clams. Man the oysters were over a foot long. Living in those silver castles and wearing pearl crowns on our heads, mind-blowing.
To prep this mission and to gain their trust, I've been guiding historic figures up and down through time. This cosmic insight helped convinced many famous people from the past to become underground railroad stops for this game. These formerly alive New Yorkers have been equipped with future technology that can text through spacetime to present devices.
Characters and locations will change periodically to make replays more challenging, and to stop maze breakers. I am protected because I travel back and halt all problems before they hatch, but lets not talk about me or my powers. If you mess with me I may have to travel back to when you were a child and feed you lead paint. It doesn't always work, I fed Trump some lead paint and he still became President.
Hangout with famous former New Yorkers and discover those almost written out of history. Hundreds of historic figures are waiting throughout time to assist your journey back. Time travel by following people you meet inside mostly Manhattan locations like parties, bars, restaurants, bawdy taverns, hotels, clubs, tourist traps, retail stores, maypole dances, gaming houses & even at pow wows. Hints from many of the correct characters you can meet in each location will help lead you back to Norumbega.
Most people you meet in each location will be incorrect dead ends. Do not leave Manhattan, except for trips to Coney Island. Try to mostly progress back in time, the majority of future time traveling are marked as dead ends. Only follow clues & people who lived during similar time zones, mostly ignore characters from different spacetime zones then the establishment your in.
Warning, most characters in each location will lead you to some underbelly of NYC, so prepare to fail miserably. To keep losing players interested, historic dark humor will spice up the dead ends. Some players may enjoy dying more than progressing in the game, so a plethora of gruesome dead ends await you.
Use the internet to research people before you choose, many are very dangerous and some will kill you and you may be benched. Once this game is more complete you will be able to protect yourself from tough guys in time. Paypal protection from Izzy Grove is coming soon. To help you through this time maze, game tip texts from famous people will also be available via Paypal. Profits will be used to oil the machinery and historic figures (alot of bars to sample in ancient NYC). Most text questions directed to famous guides can not be answered because it may change time as we know it.
The first New Yorkers were Native Americans who lived in downtown Manhattan around two fresh water ponds. They spent the winters uptown in the caves of Inwood. One winter in the 11th Century, Vikings inhabited this empty downtown Indian Village. The Vikings built and left castles, embedded with slabs of local mica, the legendary silver city. The Native Americans named the whole North West part of the continent Norumbega after the Vikings.
The kidnapped ones must play the game at actual NYC locations. To begin your journey back to 1540 you must first get back to the 1980's, so start under the Bertelsmann building at 1540 Broadway, enter underground at the garage on 46th street. You head east from Times Square and before you hit the rear entrance to the theatre, enter the underground parking garage. Take 12 steps and you will be standing next to my desk at the site of the old Variety Newspaper office. This is close to where the American and German scientists buried the 1983 time-gate. The only witness was Izzy Grove a famous jewish boxer who lived in his office on 46th street. You can also paypal to gain Izzy's help (coming soon), he's been fighting dead end creeps all over time and can help you out of any trouble.
To start this free beta version of the game hit the Variety Newspaper link in the bio of Norman Scherer (me). I worked at the show biz bible for the entire 80's, and lived at 7 West 8th street. Our time travel game starts down the street where Mary worked at Electric Lady Studios at 52 West Eighth Street, Greenwich Village, New York City 10011.
